I always called the old Big 8 the "Big 2 and a half"

Nebraska and Oklahoma were always great, so that's the 2.

The 1/2 would be the occasional year when one of Colorado or OK State would rise up and actually be pretty decent too.

But in football for most of that conference's existence, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri and Iowa State were REGULARLY on the losing end by 40+ points.
